McNair Scholars at Iowa State
McNair Scholars at Iowa State University (ISU) develop personal and professional connections while working with the McNair staff, peers, faculty and graduate student mentors. Through faculty-mentored projects and coursework in scientific research methods, Scholars learn to conduct, write and present research. For McNair Scholars, communicating research proves to be a valuable skill-set in graduate school and beyond. McNair Scholars practice their skills on and off-campus by presenting at local and national
research conferences. In addition to scholarly work, Scholars participate in a yearlong graduate school prep course designed to help them plan, select, apply, transition, and thrive in graduate school.
